Behind the Scenes at Rose & Ivie Bee Co.
When you light one of my candles or use one of my goat’s milk soaps, you’re holding something that was made slowly, intentionally, and by hand—right down to the final label. I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating each product and why I choose to make things the way I do.
Why I Chose Soy Wax & Goat’s Milk
I started Rose & Ivie Bee Co. with one simple goal: to create products I genuinely love using in my own home. That meant choosing ingredients that are gentle, clean-burning, and thoughtfully sourced.
For my candles, I use soy wax because it burns cleaner and slower than traditional paraffin wax. It allows fragrance to fill a room without being overwhelming and creates that cozy, comforting glow I always come back to.
For my soaps, goat’s milk was a natural choice. It’s incredibly nourishing, creamy, and gentle on the skin. Each batch is made to cleanse without stripping moisture, leaving skin feeling soft and cared for.
The Candle-Making Process
Every candle begins as raw soy wax, carefully melted and blended in small batches. I take my time testing and measuring fragrance oils to make sure each scent is balanced—never overpowering, just enough to create a calming atmosphere.
Once poured, candles need patience. They cure slowly to ensure an even burn and proper scent throw. I trim wicks, check finishes, and inspect each one before it’s labeled and packaged. No two batches are ever exactly the same, and that’s part of the beauty of handcrafted goods.
How My Soaps Are Made
Soap making is both a science and an art. I carefully mix oils, goat’s milk, and fragrance, then pour each batch by hand. The soaps are left to cure, allowing them to harden properly and become long-lasting bars.
Each bar is cut, inspected, and wrapped individually. I only release soaps I’m proud to use myself—if it doesn’t meet my standards, it doesn’t leave my workspace.
Small Batches, Big Heart
Because everything is made in small batches, my focus is always on quality over quantity. This approach allows me to stay connected to every product and ensure consistency, care, and intention in everything I create.
Rose & Ivie Bee Co. isn’t just about candles and soap—it’s about slowing down, creating moments of calm, and bringing a little warmth into everyday routines.
Thank you for supporting handcrafted, small-batch goods and for being part of this journey with me.
